In recent years, the consumption of meat and meat products are increasing greatly due to improvement of people’s diet interest and development of animal husbandry, and it can be considered that this change is continuing in the future. In order to advance the situation, an organization named JSMST is established in April 1959 to connect the industry-academia and related organization deals with meat and meat products. Since then, JSMST has been promoting more and more promotion of academic and industry related to the meat with the help of the cooperators and arranging annual general meeting & convention once a year and publishing journal “Shokuniku no Kagaku” twice a year.
